Eligibility Criteria

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

For the JRF positions, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:
    M.Tech or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5/10, or M.Sc. or equivalent degree with at least 65% marks or CGPA of 6.84/10 in relevant subjects (depending on the post code).
    For Example:
    • For Post Code 01, the required fields include Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology, or Applied Geology.
    • For Post Code 02, candidates need to have qualifications in Physics or Mathematics.
  • Age Limit:
    • For Post Code 01-04: Maximum 28 years as of 07.10.2024.
    • For Post Code 05-06: Maximum 35 years as of 07.10.2024.
    • Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC-NCL (3 years).
  • Additional Requirements:
    Candidates applying for JRF under Post Codes 01-04 must also have cleared one of the following:
    • National Eligibility Test (NET) by CSIR-UGC.
    • GATE.
    • National level exams conducted by Central Government Departments such as DST, DBT, DAE, or ISRO.

Research Associate (RA)

  • Educational Qualification:
    Ph.D. in relevant fields (for Post Code 05: Physical Oceanography; for Post Code 06: Atmospheric Science), or
    M.E./M.Tech with 3 years of research, teaching, design, and development experience, with at least one research paper in an SCI journal.
  • Age Limit:
    Same as JRF positions, with a maximum of 35 years for Post Codes 05-06.
