Recruitment of Meritorious Sportspersons in Income Tax Department, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, Chennai, invites applications for the recruitment of meritorious sportspersons for various positions. This is a unique opportunity for those with sporting achievements to join the Income Tax Department and contribute to both sports and administrative duties.

Positions and Vacancies

The recruitment offers a total of 33 vacancies across three posts:

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2024)

• Income Tax Inspector: 18 to 30 years
• Tax Assistant/Multi-Tasking Staff: 18 to 27 years
• Age relaxation of 5 years for OBC/General candidates and 10 years for SC/ST candidates applies, as per the Government of India’s instructions for meritorious sportspersons.

Educational Qualifications

1. Income Tax Inspector:
   • A degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
2. Tax Assistant:
   • A degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
   • Data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
3. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
   • 10th pass or equivalent from a recognized board.

Candidates will be considered based on their performance in recognized national or international sporting events, including but not limited to:

Recent Job Opportunities

• Representing a state or country in national/international competitions.
• Medal winners in Junior National Championships, Khelo India Youth Games, or University Games.
• Grandmasters and International Masters for Chess.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. The final selection will consider both sporting achievements and educational qualifications. Additionally, selected candidates are required to represent the Income Tax Department in various tournaments during their probation period.
