The Indian Navy is inviting applications for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers for the June 2025 course. Branches and Eligibility
- Executive Branch:
- General Service (GS) / Hydro Cadre: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Pilot and Naval Air Operations Officer (Air Crew): BE/B.Tech with 60% marks. Candidates must have 60% aggregate marks in classes X and XII, including 60% in English.
- Logistics: BE/B.Tech, MBA, or first-class degrees in B.Com/B.Sc/IT with relevant PG diplomas.
- Air Traffic Controller (ATC): Same as above, with additional specific age requirements.
- Technical Branch:
- Engineering and Electrical: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Marine, Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, etc., with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Education Branch:
- M.Sc. or BE/B.Tech in disciplines like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 60% marks.
Total Vacancies
The Indian Navy is offering a total of 244 vacancies across all branches. The vacancies vary by branch, with a limited number for women in specific areas like General Service, Hydro Cadre, Pilot, and Air Operations.
Selection and Application Process
The selection process includes:
- Online Application: Candidates can apply online through the Indian Navy recruitment portal.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be notified for a Service Selection Board (SSB) interview, followed by medical and fitness tests.
- Merit List: Based on SSB marks and medical clearance, a final merit list will be prepared.

Training and Benefits
- Selected candidates will be inducted into the Indian Navy as Sub-Lieutenants, with an initial Short Service Commission for 10 years, extendable by 4 years.
- The basic pay starts at ₹56,100, with additional allowances such as submarine and pilot allowances for specialized branches.
- Training will take place at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala.
