The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has released a notification for the selection of an ITEC Expert to serve as an Advisor to the Director General of the Civil Service College (CSC), Government of Mauritius. About the Project
The CSC, being developed on a 9-acre campus with a 3720 sq.m built-up area, is designed to cater to the training needs of the Mauritian civil service. The college will serve as a hub for ministries, departments, public offices, and parastatal bodies across the country, providing both induction and professional training. It aims to strengthen public sector capabilities through institutional and mid-career training, distance learning, and continuous learning for civil servants.
The CSC is also expected to function as a think tank, fostering research and policy development in public administration. The advisor will play a key role in shaping this institution’s training programs and governance.
Job Role and Responsibilities
The selected Advisor will assist the Director General of the CSC in managing and planning training programs. Key responsibilities include:

Eligibility Criteria

- Current employment as a senior professor or equivalent at a recognized government training institution or central higher education institution.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in training public servants.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or institute.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Proficiency in French (the official language of Mauritius) is considered an asset.
Applicants must also possess strong academic and professional credentials and be in good health. Those nearing superannuation may be considered on an exceptional basis.
Duration and Terms of the Assignment
The initial deputation will be for one year, with the possibility of extension for another year based on performance and mutual agreement. The deputation will follow ITEC norms, covering basic pay, compensatory foreign allowances, and relocation expenses. Medical facilities and furnished accommodation will be provided by the host government.
