The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, has opened applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Haj Committee of India. This important role is central to managing India’s annual Haj pilgrimage operations and offers a unique opportunity for eligible Muslim officers in India to lead and coordinate this national initiative.

Position Overview

Location: Mumbai, India
Term: The deputation is initially for three years, extendable by one additional year.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should meet the following qualifications and experience:

Qualifications:
- Must be a Muslim with proficiency in English and Hindi/Urdu. Knowledge of other Indian languages and Arabic is desirable.
- Prior experience or knowledge of Haj operations is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Officers should hold a rank not below Deputy Secretary in the Government of India or an equivalent position in State Governments.
- A minimum of nine years in Group ‘A’ service is required.
- Candidates in higher pay scales from their respective parent cadres are eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Applicants should be under 45 years of age, though age relaxation may be considered for experienced candidates.

Key Responsibilities

The CEO of the Haj Committee will have numerous responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Executing decisions of the Committee and supporting the day-to-day activities of the Haj pilgrimage.
Acting as the Ex-Officio Secretary to the Committee, issuing notices, and recording meeting minutes.
Coordinating logistics for the pilgrimage, including negotiations with airlines, banks, and relevant authorities.
Managing financial and administrative matters related to the Haj operations.
