The Secretary (E),
Railway Board,
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Sub: Denial of payment of Breakdown Allowance to the staff working in GP 2000/Level 3 of 7th CPC-reg.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter No. E(P&A)II-2017/BDA-1 dated 30/08/2017 (RBE No. 106/2017).
***********
Federation invites attention of the Railway Board to the instructions issued vide letter No. E(P&A)II-2017/BDA-1 dated 30/08/2017 (RBE No. 106/2017) wherein revised rates of Breakdown Allowance for staff nominated for Breakdown duties have been circulated.
In this connection, Federation has received reports from its affiliated Unions that the staff working in erstwhile GP 2000 or Pay Level 3 have been denied payment of Breakdown Allowance in the Zones etc., citing Board’s instructions dated 30/08/2017 (RBE No. 106/2017) wherein the staff in GP 2000/Level 3 have not been included. NFIR is of the view that the staff in Pay Level 3 i.e. 6th CPC GP 2000 through MACPS are rightly entitled for Breakdown Allowance, therefore denying the same is improper.
NFIR, therefore, requests the Railway Board to issue suitable modified instructions to the Zones etc., duly including the staff working in GP 2000/Level 3 for payment of Breakdown Allowance with retrospective effect.
A copy of the instructions issued may be endorsed to the Federation.
Yours faithfully
(Dr. M. Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
