Validity of CGHS-Panelled Hospitals Extended Till April 2026

In a welcome move for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has officially extended the validity of empanelled Health Care Organizations (HCOs) under CGHS by one more year. As per the Office Memorandum dated April 15, 2025, this extension will be effective from 1st May 2025 to 30th April 2026, or until new empanelment terms are finalized, whichever comes earlier.
What This Means for CGHS Beneficiaries
- No disruption in services: All hospitals and diagnostic centers currently empanelled under CGHS will continue offering services without interruption.
- Same terms and conditions: The empanelment is being extended under the existing terms and conditions, ensuring continued access to CGHS benefits without changes in cost or eligibility.
- Applies to all cities: The directive is applicable across all CGHS cities and zones.
Official Communication and Instructions
Copies have also been circulated to key officials, including the Secretary, MoHFW, AS & DG, CGHS, and JS, CGHS, as well as to the Hon’ble Health Minister and Minister of State for Health.
All Additional Directors of CGHS have been instructed to notify all empanelled HCOs about this extension.
The communication was issued by the Director, CGHS with the approval of the Competent Authority.
