In a significant move to modernize healthcare services for central government employees and pensioners, the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) will roll out its new Health Management Information System (HMIS) developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) starting April 28, 2025. This overhaul replaces the two-decade-old software with a modern, transparent, and efficient digital platform.

- April 26, 2025: All CGHS services will be suspended for the final transition.

What Will Change for CGHS Beneficiaries?
1. Simplified Payment System via Bharat Kosh Integration
- No manual selection or data entry on Bharat Kosh.
- Contribution verification is automated โ reducing errors and refund hassles.

- All unpaid applications as of April 27, 2025, will lapse.
- Fresh applications must be submitted exclusively via the new portal.
2. Public Dealing Suspension on April 26
- All CGHS Wellness Centres will remain closed for public interaction during the transition.
3. New Identity Verification Process
- Department identity for serving employees will now be linked through PAO (Pay and Accounts Office) and DDO (Drawing and Disbursing Officer) codes.
- Beneficiaries must refer to their salary slips for the correct codes.
- Until complete onboarding of departments, physical submission at CGHS Card Sections will continue.
4. Mandatory Password Reset
- On first login, all beneficiaries must reset their passwords.

Important Advisory for Beneficiaries and Departments
- From April 28, 2025, CGHS contribution payments can only be made through www.cghs.mohfw.gov.in.
Payments via www.bharatkosh.gov.in will no longer be accepted. - Applications in progress without payment by April 27 will lapse. Fresh applications are needed via the new portal.
- Beneficiaries aged above 18 years must link their PAN with their CGHS Beneficiary ID.
