7th Pay Commission Transport Allowance approved by Govt– Existing Rate retained with applicable DA will be allowed
The Official press release of Govt on Cabinet decision on 7th Pay Commission Allowances indicates that fully DA-indexed allowances such as Transport Allowance were not given any raise. Allowances not indexed to DA were raised by a factor of 2.25 and the partially indexed ones by a factor of 1.5. The quantum of allowances paid as a percentage of pay was rationalised by a factor of 0.8.
Transport Allowance (TPTA) is granted to cover the expenditure involved in commuting between place of residence and place of duty. The existing rates are as under:
