RS Mann Appointed as the Chairman of Sixth Punjab Pay Commission – CMO spokesperson said that Badal gave nod for appointment of R S Mann as the Chairman of Sixth Punjab Pay Commission, with effect from today.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today appointed former Punjab Chief Secretary R S Mann as the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission chairman.
CMO spokesperson said that Badal gave nod for appointment of R S Mann as the Chairman of Sixth Punjab Pay Commission, with effect from today.
The spokesperson said the new Chairman has been mandated to give recommendations with regard to new pay scales for the employees and revision in the pension for pensionersas well as family pensioners of the state government after having detailed deliberations with the various state employees’ and pensioners’ associations.
While Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa, had last month, said that the state was facing the “biggest problem” of high salary bill at present.
“Punjab’s biggest problem is high salary of employees. Our salary, pension and retirement benefits bill has reached Rs 28,000 crore and it is growing by Rs 3,000 crore per annum. That is the thing which we have to look into,” he had said.
