SUBJECT: FOLLOW-UP ON ISSUES RAISED DURING STANDING COMMITTEE MEETING OF NATIONAL COUNCIL JCM ON 20-09-2023
Respected Mam,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. | am writing to follow up on two important issues that were raised during the standing committee meeting of the National Council JCM on September 20, 2023, which you had the honor of chairing.
1. RESTORATION OF COMMUTATION AFTER 12 YEARS INSTEAD OF 15 YEARS:
During the meeting, the matter of reducing the period for restoration of commutation from 15 years to 12 years was discussed. The official side had agreed to take the necessary steps to address this issue, but we have not observed any tangible progress on this front.
2. PAYMENT OF 18 MONTHS DA/DR DURING PANDEMIC 2020-21:
The delay in the payment of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief (DA/DR) for 18 months during the pandemic in 2020-21 was another critical issue discussed. However, it appears that no substantive actions have been taken to resolve this matter either.
The Standing Committee had shown a positive response and commitment towards resolving these issues. Therefore, we respectfully request you to take the necessary steps to expedite the resolution of these matters. Additionally, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with an update on the current status of these issues.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for our last meeting as your personality reflect simplicity and truth.
Thank you for your attention to these matters. We look forward to your positive response and the swift resolution of these issues.
With regards.
Yours sincerely.
ASHOK SINGH
