Payment Details of ESIC Productivity Linked Bonus Advance 2023-24

According to the memorandum issued, the approved advance is equivalent to 60 days’ wages, subject to a maximum of Rs. 13,816. All eligible Group ‘C’ employees, whether temporary or permanent, will benefit from this initiative. However, employees who have retired or resigned from ESIC during the year 2023-24 will not be eligible to receive this payment.

The calculation of the advance is based on the average monthly emoluments or a calculation ceiling, whichever is lower. For instance, if the monthly emoluments exceed Rs. 7,000, the PLB advance for 30 days would amount to Rs. 6,908. Hence, the advance for 60 days would total Rs. 13,816.

Eligibility Criteria for ESIC PLB Advance

  • Regular Employees: All regular Group ‘C’ employees who have been in service for the entire year 2023-24 are eligible.
  • Proportional Eligibility: Employees who have been in service for at least six months during the year 2023-24 will receive the bonus on a proportionate basis.
  • Wage Limit: Employees earning more than Rs. 7,000 per month will receive the PLB at the rate applicable to those earning Rs. 7,000.
  • Leave Conditions: Employees who were on extraordinary leave (EOL) or half-pay leave (HPL) during March will receive the bonus based on their usual pay and allowances.

Conditions for Payment of ESIC PLB Advance

To receive the PLB advance, employees are required to submit an undertaking. This document states that the advance will be adjusted against the final PLB due for the year 2023-24 and that any excess payment must be refunded promptly. This ensures that the advance payment is effectively managed and discrepancies are addressed.

The Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of regional and sub-regional offices are responsible for processing the advance payments, which are to be paid by October 21, 2024. The Joint Directors and Deputy Directors of Finance will oversee these transactions and ensure compliance across regions.

Official Communication and Next Steps

The Assistant Director has communicated the details of the PLB advance to all relevant offices, including regional directors, medical superintendents, and heads of ESIC medical education institutions. The memorandum has also been made available on the official ESIC website to keep all stakeholders informed.

Eligible employees can expect the payment by the stipulated date, and any discrepancies in the payment process should be promptly reported to the respective offices. This timely payment of the PLB advance is anticipated to provide financial relief to employees ahead of the festive season, contributing positively to their well-being and job satisfaction.
