Central Government Offices Across India to Remain Closed on Ambedkar Jayanti

The Government of India has officially declared Monday, 14th April 2025, as a public holiday for all Central Government offices, including Industrial Establishments throughout the country. The announcement has been made to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a revered social reformer.
In an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training), the government emphasized the observance of the holiday in recognition of Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring contributions to the nation.
“It has been decided to declare the 14th April 2025 (Monday) a holiday on account of the birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar for all Central Government Offices including Industrial Establishments throughout India,” the notification read.
