One of my colleague has been promoted to the grade of UDC wef 14 Mar 2017 in level 4. Her Basic Pay as on 13 Mar 2017 is Rs 32000/- She has already been granted 1st financial upgradation under MACP Scheme in 2009 in the Grade Pay of Rs 2000/- (now level 3) and also granted benefit of increment at the time of fixation of pay under 1st MACP in 2009.
Now grade pay system has been discontinued, but the question is that the individual has been promoted from one level to another level i.e. Level 3 to Level 4, kindly clarify whether she is required to give option for fixation of pay on promotion and is entitled benefit of one increment at the time of this regular promotion i.e. UDC wef 14 Mar 2017 in level 4 or her Basic Pay will be fixed simply in the stage falls in level 4 after Rs 32000/- which is Rs 32300/- due to the reason that she has already benefited for one increment at the time of 1st MACP and no fixation is required.
