My date of retirement was 30/4/2009.GRADE PAY WAS 8700 . Last drawn salary was 49850. pl let me know i will be benefited with the new fixation index proposed for level 13 scale for pension?
Yes, Now your pension wef 01-01-2016 will be 65300 PM according to revised Pay Matrix in place of 64800 as per initial Pay matrix for level 13 ,in your case there is enhancement in pension , but in some cases there is reduction in pension . Please see example given below :-
Due to revision of Pay Matrix levell 13 MF from 2.57 to 2.67. Enhancement shown as per table is correct but in some cases in notional pay fixation for pension calculation there is reduction (REDUCTION ) in notional pay and pension in 7th CPC . Example – Date of retirement – 30-06-2005 . Pay scale from which retired -14300-400-18300 ( 5th CPC ) . Last pay drawn ( LPD ) – 18300 . Notional Pay in 6th CPC – pay in the pay band 4 = 43390 + grade pay 8700 = 52090 (according to MOF ( DOE ) O. M. dated 30th August 2008 ) .
Notional pay in 7th CPC
( A ) according to initial Pay Matrix ( 52090 X 2.57 =133872 next higher cell 137500 ) = 137500 Basic pension in 7th CPC = 68750
( B ) according to revised Pay Matrix for label 13 ( 52090 X 2.57 = 133872 next higher cell 134500 ) = 134500 pension in 7th CPC = 67250 .
There is reduction in pension by 68750 – 67250 = 1500 PM in basic pension wef 01-01-2016 .
New Pay Matrix required rectification in various cells under level 13

Thank you for the prompt reply. In the example cited ( the multiplication factor used is 2.57 INSTEAD OF THE REVISED FACTOR 2.67.Does it mean the proposed new matrix(chart) is only valid, not the MF.
Revised MF 2.67 is for calculation of minimum pay and preparation of revised Pay Matrix under level 13 . MF 2.57 is for calculation of Pay and notional pay for pension calculation for all levels .
