7th Pay Commission Allowances approved by Govt – Final Decision on 197 Allowances
7th Pay Commission Allowances – A summary view on decision taken by Govt in respect of 197 Allowances – 7th Pay Commission Allowances which are Common and Prominent such as HRA, Transport Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Travelling Allowance, Daily Allowance on Tour, TA on Transfer etc, the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission have been accepted as such with slight modifications
Revision of 7th Pay Commission Allowances – How much is it beneficial to Central Government Employees ?
As most of the Allowances excepting a very few such as HRA, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, TA on Transfer, Daily Allowance on Tour etc are not common and specific to a particular department, cadre, and place of posting, quantum of net increase in Allowance can not be measured like increase in basic pay.
However, the common allowances discussed above have been increased mostly as recommended by 7th CPC.
1. Effect of merger of DA with Pay resulting in slightly over 100% increase in House Rent Allowance.
2. There is no increase in Transport Allowance.
3. Children Education Allowance and Hostel Subsidy per month payable for the purpose of education and stay in hostel for the children of Central Government Employees have been increased by 1.5 times from Rs. 1500 to 2250 and from Rs. 4500 to Rs. 6750 respectively.
4. Family Planning Allowance has been abolished
Revision in respect of all the Allowances except Dearness Allowance, takes effect from 1st July 2016
