Sub: Revision of Pension of pre-2016 pensioners as per 7th CPC.
Ref: 1. Board’s letter No. 201 6 / F (E)III/ 1 (1) / 7 dated 22.5.2017 (REE No. 49/2017) & 11.07.2017 (REE No. 66/2017).
2. Board’s letters of even No. dated 9.6.2017,19.7.2017&25.07.2017 (RBA No. 68/2017, 98/2017 & 103/2017).
Attention is invited to Board’s letters cited above, wherein instructions regarding revision of pre-2016 pensioners as per the 7th CPC recommendations as envisaged by DoP&PW from we to we have been circulated for information and compliance. It was also advised to draw an action plan along with target dates vide letter no. 2016/ AC-II /21/8 dated 19.07.2017 &25.07.2017 (RBA no. 98/2017 & RBA no. 103/2017).
In the meanwhile, Department of Pension and Pensioner’s Welfare (DOPPW) vide their Office Memorandum No. 4/23/2017~P&PW(D) dated 25th July, 2017 has brought out the procedural actions required to be taken for revision of Pension (Copy enclosed). Para 3 of the letter envisages that Ministries / Departments are once again requested to suo moto proceed to process the revision cases immediately to avoid delays in issuance of revised PPOs of pre-2016 retirees. It may be noted that expeditious revision of Pension requires a close coordination between Personnel and Accounts Departments. The CPO and PFA may be asked to form joint groups by drafting staff from both the departments for expeditious revisions.
The status of revision of PPOs is being reviewed by Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, status of Revision Cases as on 16/8/2017 is to be send by 21/8/2017. In addition, Secretary (Expenditure), Ministry of Finance, vide his DO letter dated 27/7/2017, has asked for a weekly to be sent regarding progress of revision of Pension Cases. It is requested that necessary steps may kindly be taken to expedite the task of revision of the remaining cases. The progress made by 16/ 8/2017 may kindly be apprised to Board in the enclosed format by 21.8.2017 by mail at 7cpcac2rb[at]gmail.com
