the inflationary prices of essential commodities doubled during the last 6 months. so its not a good news. let the prices fall to its pre-election level.

This DA installment is released on the CPI(IW) reaching 153 as on 30June’09. The irony is that just a month later, on 31July’09, the index crossed 160. If the same trend, even slightly subdued, continues, the next installment of DA due on 01Jan2010 would be of the order of 25-30%. Then what……..?!?

I was working as Accountant and was on deputation as Section Officer from May, 2005 in the O/o The Accountant General. In June, 2006 I was promoted as Sr. Accountant (proforma promotion) in my parent office. After passing my SOGE (Civil Audit) exam, I was absorbed as Section Officer on 1-12-2006.
After the implementation of VIth Pay Commission I have exercised my option for fixation of pay w.e.f. 1-1-2006 and pay was fixed accordingly.
While on tour I came to know from my friends about the Office Memorandum No. E.No.1/1/2008-IC dated 29-1-2009 issued by Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure Implementation Cell, New Delhi. As per the OM, Sl.No. 2, revised option can be exercised where a government servant has been placed in a higher pay scale between 1-1-2006 and the date of notification of these rules on account of promotion, upgradation of pay scale etc. but the same was not circulated by my office.
Knowing this I immediately applied to exercise revised option i.e. from the date of promotion/absorption as Section Officer (1-12-2006) but same was rejected by Administration stating that the request for revised option is not considered as option once exercised is final as per Rule 6(4) of notification dated 29-8-2008. Further stated that the OM dated 29-1-2009 pertains to split option and is not applicable in my case. I want to state that the OM is after the date of notification dated 29-8-08 and as stated above Sl.No. 2 clearly apply in my case. can I get the benefits of revised pay as per the VIth Pay Commission.
