Internet has become part and parcel of our life today and to make it more useful we need to maintain number of login accounts online that need passwords. Forums, blogs, email accounts, social networks, online bank accounts and what not.
If you have the practice of keeping different login id and passwords for these different services, you should be racking your brain always.
Instead you can develop the habit of having only one user name which you should be using for every new registration for online services. Nowadays, many websites have the procedure to ask you to keep your email id as your user name, which would fit into this idea.
Next is the Password. This you can’t have a single one for security reasons. You can have multiple passwords and yet remember those without any hassle. Here, we give a suggestion to keep separate password for each service. This technique is very simple but you could find it very effective.
Step-1
First, rather than remembering a word for your password, remember a phrase instead. For example:
“I can remember many passwords”
Then take the first letter of each word as your password, so…
would be: icrmp
This makes your actual password look very random.
Step Two
Now you need a password for your bank (ex. state bank of India). Just take the first letters of the name
(sboi) and add it to your password:
sboiicrmp
Or another example, if you need a password for your gmail account:
gicrmp
It will not be out place here to mention the importance of keeping your password secret always. These new-age proverbs would exactly tell the importance of keeping your password secret though may look a bit spicy.
